OUR STORY
They often call Chickens the Homesteading Gateway "drug". It's easy to see why: they are calm, friendly with quirky personalities and require minimal work! Plus they start our breakfast everyday with a fresh egg!
As a new couple in Feb' of '24 Christopher and Terri were excited to share their hobbies with each other. Christopher had never experienced Chickens, turkeys or most farm animals for that matter. Terri had been raising chickens on and off for 13 years with her son Jack.
Very quickly Christopher came to LOVE the chickens they had, he loved the routine and how they interacted with him. Over time we realized our house in Southwick wasn't where we wanted to spend forever. So together we bought our dream antique farm house in Granville, Massachusetts and chicken math quickly became a real thing.
With us both having a passion for business and animals it became clear we wanted to do something more with our Chickens. So we started small, got a single incubator from Tractor Supply (you know the one lol) put in some of our own eggs and off we went!
Fast forward 8 months and we've decided on breeds we want to raise and specialize in. We've built a small following for our eating eggs locally and we are actively working on getting our flock MDAR state tested!
Our goal is to raise heritage breeds in a happy, healthy environment and do it sustainably with the environment and the life we've been trusted with in mind. Our chickens are loved and raised with lots of affection, lots of treats and
daily free ranging.
We hope you'll come by on our open farm days and see the life we've built. It's a humble life, but its ours, built on our own terms and that's enough for us.
