** At Humblebee Hatchery, we hatch on a pre-order basis, meaning we only incubate eggs that have already been reserved. This helps ensure every chick has a home waiting for it and prevents unnecessary hatching. Because of this, some orders may have a wait time. Please expect approximately 2–3 months for day-old chicks, with juveniles (4–12 weeks) and grow-outs (12+ weeks) requiring additional time as they must be raised to the appropriate age before going home. We appreciate your patience and are committed to raising healthy, well-started birds that are worth the wait! **

Estimated wait times vary by breed, season, fertility, and hatch success, and we will keep you updated throughout the process.

Extra Info: Svarthöna, Bohuslän-Dals svarthöna, or Swedish Black Rooster, Hen or Chicken is a Swedish landrace of domestic chicken that is considered to have originated from Ayam Cemani / Kadaknath breeds of chickens transported from Mozambique to Norway by sailors sometime in the 17th century. The Svarthöna has since adapted to a northerly climate, but has retained the rare quality of black skin and connective tissue. The current form of Svarthöna has been given the status of a landrace. All Swedish entries in gene banks can be traced to a group of chickens that came to Sweden around the turn of the 19th century. In the year 1956 this flock was bought by two brothers in Bullarebygd. The Swedish Association for Landrace Breeds[1] has preserved the Svarthöna in a gene bank since 1991.
